Terms and conditions

We are pleased to welcome you to our B&B and would like to inform you about our terms and conditions, so that your stay is as pleasant and carefree as possible. Please read the terms below carefully and do not hesitate to contact us with any questions. We look forward to meeting you soon!

1.  Reservations and Payments

  • Booking confirmation: A reservation is definite after receipt of a written confirmation from B&B Het Notarishuis and a down payment of 50% of the total stay.

  • Deposit: The 50% deposit must be paid within 7 days of booking. The remaining amount should be paid at latest at check-out.

  • Payment methods: We accept payments via bank transfer, credit card, debit card and cash.

 

2. Cancellation policy

  • Cancellation by the guest, when booking up to 2 rooms:

    • Up to 5 days before arrival: Free cancellation, the deposit paid will be refunded.

    • Within 5 days before arrival: 100% of the total amount will be charged.

    • No-show: The full amount of the stay will be charged.

  • Cancellation by the guest, for bookings of 3 to 5 rooms

    • Up to 60 days before arrival: Free cancellation, the deposit paid will be refunded.

    • Within 60 days before arrival: 50% of the total amount will be charged.

    • Within 30 days before arrival: 100% of the total amount will be charged.

    • No-show: the full amount of the stay will be charged.

  • Cancellation by B&B Het Notarishuis: In the event of unforeseen circumstances, B&B Het Notarishuis reserves the right to cancel the reservation. The guest will be informed as soon as possible and any deposits will be fully refunded.

 

3. Changes to Reservations

  • Changes to the reservation (such as dates, number of persons) are possible, subject to availability.

  • Any price differences due to changes will be adjusted and passed on. Changes should always be requested in advance.

 

4. Arrival and departure

  • Check-in: The room is available from 15:30. Final check-in is possible until 22:00. Please contact us if you arrive later. There is a possibility of using a key safe, for which instructions will be sent to the guest.

  • Check-out: The room should be vacated by 10:30 on the day of departure.

  • Late check-out: Possible at an extra charge of 25Euro (until 13:00) and subject to availability.

5. Accommodation conditions

  • Maximum number of guests: Each room has a maximum of 2 number of guests allowed. Additional persons may incur a surcharge and must be notified in advance.

  • Smoking policy: Smoking is prohibited in the guest rooms of B&B The Notary House. In consultation, guests may smoke on the terrace in front of the house, provided others are not inconvenienced and safety is not compromised. The terrace must remain smoke-free. Misuse of fire/extinguishers or disabling the smoke detector is not permitted.

  • Pets: Pets are not allowed.

  • Visitors: If you wish to receive visitors other than those mentioned on your booking, please inform the managers.

  • Rest periods: Please respect quiet hours from 10pm to 7am. All music - and any other noise - howsoever produced must be tuned to room volume so as not to cause noise pollution to other guests and nearby residents and is prohibited anyway from 10pm to 7am.

  • Parking:  Guests can park their cars free of charge in the parking spaces provided for that purpose at B&B Het Notarishuis. Parking is only allowed for the duration of the stay. We are not liable for theft and/or any form of damage to your car. Parking on the grounds of B&B Het Notarishuis is at your own risk.

 

6. Responsibilities and damage

  • Liability: The guest is responsible for any damage caused to the accommodation or its contents during the stay. Any damage must be reported immediately and may be settled afterwards.

  • Personal belongings: B&B The Notary House is not responsible for loss, theft or damage to the guest's personal belongings.

 

7. Force majeure

In cases of force majeure (natural disasters, pandemics, etc.) that make the stay impossible, special cancellation or modification rules may apply. This will be clearly communicated to all affected guests upon the occurrence of such situations.

8. Privacy and data protection

Your personal data will be handled in accordance with the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). We respect your privacy and will not share your data with third parties without your consent.

9. Complaints and Disputes

  • Complaints procedure: Complaints should be submitted in writing within 7 days of departure. We aim to deal with complaints within 14 days.

  • Applicable law and competent court: Belgian law applies to these terms and conditions. Disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the district where B&B Het Notarishuis is located.

10. Department Flanders

The Department International Flanders is the competent authority that grants the licence and where further information can be obtained on the regulations governing the operation of tourist accommodation and the remedies generally available in the event of disputes and where the tourist can lodge a complaint.
